Junior Volunteers

We are often asked if we have volunteer opportunities for children. Children and animals are often a great combination with rewards on both sides but, we do have some guidelines.

Because we are a licensed facility, we do have a few rules (governed by laws and insurance) that we must adhere to when it comes to opportunities for junior volunteers.

We do not have volunteer opportunities at our facility for children under the age of 14.

You may also check our Events page as we often have off-site events that younger children can participate in.

Children over 14 who are not yet licensed drivers must be picked up no later than 12 noon for the morning shift or 8pm for the evening shift.

No child under the age of 16 will be allowed to walk dogs unless accompanied by a trained adult.
