Rudee ~ Twelve years. That is how long Rudee was with us - TWELVE YEARS! Finally, Rudee found her forever home. When we say GGOH is a no-kill rescue facility, this is what we mean - however long it takes. We will surely miss you Rudee but boy oh boy, we could not be happier for you!
Oreo ~ It took four years, but Oreo has found his new forever home. Oreo's new family had stated that they met Oreo at a previous visit to our facility and just couldn't stop thinking about him - boy, are we sure happy that they couldn't! Oreo is going to be missed, but we truly couldn't be happier for him as this is what we're here for - to rescue those in need and keep them safe and warm and loved until their new owner's find them. Four years! Finally!!!
Teddy B. has found a home! Teddy's adoption was a very special one for us here at GGOH as Teddy B. was not your average dog nor was his adoption. Teddy came to us from a rescue facility in Texas and, Teddy is blind. We had hoped that we would be able to work with Teddy to strengthen his social skills and get him adoption ready and well, we did just that! Teddy's adoption was also unusual in another way as his new family resided many states away on the east coast - it took a lot of work and a lot of collaboration but we made it happen and today, Teddy has a new home and family. This is one adoption that we will never forget! Best of luck sweet boy - make us proud!!
Buddy was brought to GGOH when he was approximately 4-5 month old; he was found along with his mom and siblings in a ravine, in a park in Minnesota. Finally, after a long 4 year wait, Buddy has a forever home. We are going to miss this boy so much, but we couldn't be happier that he has found a permanent lap to rest on. Three cheers for Buddy and his new family!!!
On September 11, 2015 two of our wonderful dogs found their forever homes. Emmett and Sawyer were both extremely excited to be going home - the tale wags were nearly uncontrollable. We loved it - nothing better than seeing our canine friends be so happy. Good luck boys; we will miss you both!! Pita came to us late in the spring of 2015 after he was found wandering on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota during a LightShine Rescue Group round-up of dogs that were under the threat of being shot. Gregory's stepped up to help this pup find his new furever home and in September of 2015, that's exactly what we did! Hooray for Pita! And a great big thanks goes out to his new adoptive family!!
Gerdie was with us at GGOH for quite a long time so we were beyond thrilled when this couple came through our doors. Gerdie, you are going to be very happy in your new home, of that we are certain. We'll miss you sweet girl; be good!
Mystery has a new home - hooray! Mystery came to GGOH in early July 2015 after being found wandering around an apartment building looking for food and attention - we believe that she was left behind when previous residents moved out. How lucky for her that GGOH was here as we gladly took her in and now, less than a month later and she is in her new, loving home. Hooray!
Brewster ~ this BIG BOY has FINALLY found himself a home. Brewster was with us for so long, that there were many tears shed on his departure; he truly was like family to us. Nonetheless, we couldn't be happier for him. Photos sent from his new family show us that Brewster is LIVING THE LIFE and LOVING his new home. It took awhile but, SWEET SUCCESS!! We're going to miss you, big fella.
Magic ~ Our loverboy Magic has FINALLY found himself a permanent home and we are truly jumping for joy over this! Magic so deserves this happiness - he was such an affectionate cat while he was with us that we just couldn't understand why it was his fate to remain with us. FINALLY! Thank you so much to those who gave this boy a chance - THANK YOU, from the very bottoms of our hearts!!
Licorice ~ Jackpot! That's what one family hit when they adopted this beautiful boy. Licorice was brought to GGOH as a "stray" but we know he was at one time a family pet as he had been front de-clawed. It's sad that he had been turned out by those he loved and trusted; left to fend for himself with no means of defense was what we would call a bad situation just waiting to become worse. Luckily for Licorice, and for his new adoptive family, GGOH was there to step in and give him a safe place to wait out his days on his road to new found love and happiness. We're glad we were there for you, Licorice! A happy ending once again; and yes, his new family most certainly hit the jackpot!!
Peppe ~ our sweet little boy has found a new home and what a great new home it is! We've received several photos from Peppe's adoptive family and it's looking like he's made himself right at home. Peppe is loving all the new found attention and from the looks of it, he is enjoying his new fur-mates as well. Peppe came into this world being born in a box of Christmas lights in the corner of a flea-infested garage that his momma was left behind in - boy has he come a long way from that sad beginning. We are so glad we were there to help little Peppe live a life worth living and have accompanied him on his journey to finding a new forever home. Do us proud little boy - we'll all miss you, but we know you've gone somewhere amazing!
Freida is off to her new home! Freida was another beautiful dog that came to GGOH from Smiling Dog Farms in TX. She had only been with us for a short time, but she left her mark in all of our hearts. Such a sweet, loving girl! She's come a long way from her Texas roots, but we are certain she is going to be very, very happy in her new Wisconsin home. Yay Freida!!
Tiger ~ Once again, love rules! Tiger had been fortunate enough to have been placed in a foster home and as luck would have it, his foster family fell completely in love with him and choose to make the placement a permanent one. This, however, does not surprise us one bit - we knew they would love him just as much as we did. Tiger, we wish you well, buddy!
Lady, 8 years young, has found herself a home. We here at GGOH are doing the happy dance! Lady came to us after her owner passed away unexpectedly; she had no one to care for her and no family came forward to claim her. She was pretty much all alone and very scared. It took her some time to trust us but, eventually, our caring ways were accepted and we started seeing Lady in a new light. Thankfully, a kind-hearted soul saw Lady's story and her potential and decided to take her in as a foster and from there, grew to love her so much that Lady now is calling that foster her permanent home. We are just so, so happy for Lady. We are proud to say we were here for her and helped her transition to a new loving home. Another happy ending!
Sabrina ~ After a very long stay with us here at GGOH, Sabrina has FINALLY found her furever home. Sabrina is such a sweet girl that we know her new family is just going to love her to pieces. We are so happy that we could be here for her and provide her with all the love and care we possibly provide while she waited for her new family to find her. Another successful adoption! Let's hear it for, Sabrina ~ woot woot!!
Jiggy joined GGOH's family in February 2015 after being rescued from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. With the threat of death, he was scooped up by dedicated rescue workers in the area and transported to us. Jiggy found his forever family in April 2015 - just a few short months after his rescue. Jiggy was such a little charmer that we weren't surprised at all that he found a home so quickly. Everyone here at GGOH fell completely in love with him and we're going to miss him but we are thrilled beyond words that we were able to save yet another. Be well, Jiggy - do us proud!!
Magic is off to his new home after a very short stay here with us at GGOH; he was in and out in less than a month! A wonderful family has gotten themselves one heck of a prize as Magic is a true gem. We are just so glad that we had the opportunity to give Magic a new forever home. We'll miss him, of course, but happy endings make us all smile!
Gussie ~ Gussie has hit the jackpot and has gone to the same home where her sister Emma is. Emma's new owners gave us a call and stated that they had decided that they would like to adopt another cat from us to be a friend for Emma; luckily for us and for them, Gussie was still with us. What a better companion to take in for Emma than her sister! We were just thrilled to get this call. Gussie and Emma are now reunited and are doing marvelously and their adoptive family couldn't be happier!
Emma, sweet Emma! We're so excited that this beautiful girl has finally found a place to call her own. All hands in the air for Emma!! Woo hoo! Emma came to GGOH in early 2014 along with her sister Gussie. The pair had been brought in by a private citizen as "strays" but GGOH soon came to find out that they were not strays at all, but had been this person's pets. We're not sure why this person decided that their pets were no longer wanted but, we are happy that they were brought to us rather than turned out on the streets. We were able to give this pair a lot of loving and some much needed attention and boy did they give the love in return. We are certain that Emma's new family agrees with us on that one - Emma had lots of love to give. It is a bittersweet adoption though as sadly, Gussie was not able to go with her sister. On a postive note, Gussie has adapted just fine without Emma and she is ready and waiting for her forever family to come along, too - we are hoping that this will happen for our love Gussie one day very, very soon! Update: Gussie has been reunited with her sister! A very happy ending for both cats!!
Paddy & Seamus ~ Paddy and Seamus were from a litter of six (sweet momma Dusty still remains with us). These two brothers were the last of the kittens to be adopted and were sooooo lucky to have been adopted together by a caring couple who have an adorable 2-yr old daughter. How awesome it will be that they get to grow up together - this little girl is going to have two adoring playmates for a long, long time to come. We will miss your antics, little fellas, but we are very happy for you!!
Kato caused quite a commotion during his short stay with us here at Gregory's. He came to us in early 2015 as an owner surrender and boy oh boy, did he quickly become one popular little guy! We often joked that we needed a Kato hotline - yes, he was that popular. After many applications and just as many interviews and home visits, Kato found his new forever home. We loved having him here with us but we must say, we were glad when the madness was over. :) Take care and be well, Kato - you will be forever in our hearts, there is no doubt about that!
Cyndee (CiCi), our beautiful Boxer, has been adopted. Such great news for CiCi - and we say this with excitement in our voices as CiCi had a bit of a difficult time with us here at GGOH. Shelter life did not suit her well so we are so very, very happy that she has found a new forever home. We put out a plea for immediate placement and boy, did our wonderful GGOH supporters come through for us! A huge THANK YOU goes out to her new family!! We'll miss you girl, but we're so happy for you.
Clarence & Claire were adopted together and we couldn't be happier about that fact. It is so rewarding when two of our rescues can go to a new home together - they came in as strays and strangers but they quickly bonded and became best buds here at the shelter and now get to spend the rest of their days together in a new wonderful home. We are all just thrilled to pieces over this. Enjoy your new family you two, you more than deserve it!
Emma came to us from another rescue facility in Texas! We feel fortunate to have had the pleasure to get to know this bundle of love and we feel even more fortunate that we were able to find her a suitable, loving home in such a short time. We all did the happy dance when we heard Emma had found her new forever home. We're glad we were able to do right by you, love bug. Enjoy your new family!!
Tucker had a rough start with us here at GGOH as he just wasn't acclimating to his new surroundings very well. We put out a plea for an immediate foster to come forward and a GGOH supporter stepped up to the plate. It's not too hard to figure out how Tucker's story with us ends - as you've already probably guessed, his foster fell completely head-over-heels for this gorgeous boy and decided to make his stay a permanent one. Way to go pouring on the charm, Tucker! You did it buddy, you got yourself a new home. Woot woot!!
Roxy came to us an owner surrender in December 2014 and it took a bit for us to find her that someone(s) special but boy, are we glad her wait is finally over. March 19, 2015 - ADOPTED LOVE - yes, that is what her new owners did, they adopted love! Roxy is such a sweet girl and just full of love and we think her new family is going to be just thrilled to have this girl be a part of their lives. Roxy girl, you knocked it out of the park! We'll miss you, but we couldn't be happier for you.
Ms. Fancy Pants, our sweet senior, has been adopted. Best news ever! Fancy had been picked up as a stray and was brought to us in dire medical condition - she suffered from Pyometra (an infection in the uterus; it is a serious and life threatening condition that must be treated promptly and aggressively, i.e. surgically) as well as double ear and double eye infections and too many abscessed teeth to even count - but we nursed her back to health and gave her tons of love and spoiled her rotten until her forever family could be found. We are just so happy for her and her new family. We'll miss you, sweet girl, but we know you are in good hands. Again, BEST NEWS EVER!!
Millie ~ oh sweet Millie how happy are we for you! You hit the jackpot little girl, and we couldn't be happier for you. Millie came to GGOH as a rescue from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota where she was in danger of being shot on sight. We are so glad that our rescue friends contacted us about this pup and her brother; it gives us the warm fuzzies to know we saved her little life. Another successful rescue and adoption for Gregory's!
McCreamy is off to his new home after nearly 2 1/2 years with us here at GGOH. McCreamy's story started out rather tragic as he was found on the side of a freeway with 7 other siblings (his mother and three other reported siblings were never found) but, he now has his happy ending. Good luck McCreamy - we'll miss you terribly but we are smiling ear-to-ear over your new-found family. Happy New Year, big boy!
Mulligan was picked up and brought to GGOH by animal control in mid-November 2014; he was taken home to be with his adoptive family in late-December 2014. This is the kind of success story that we love to write about - Mulligan was with us only for a short time and we couldn't be prouder of that fact; our efforts to find Mulligan a new home paid off. We are so glad that we were able to provide a safe, warm place for him to rest while he waited for his new family. Good luck to you, Mulligan!
Darla ~ yay for Darla! This precious pooch has been in and out of our facility one too many times for various reasons but we're hopeful that she has now found her forever and ever and ever home. We are so very thankful to the wonderful couple who have decided to make Darla a part of their family. We'll keep you in our hearts forever, Ms. Darla and we're wishing you nothing but warm hugs and comfy beds from here on out! XOXOXO sweet girl!!
Zippy ~ we are so excited for Zippy! This love of a dog came to us with very limited vision; living a life of shadows. We knew right away that we had to do everything we possibly could to give Zippy a happy future, and that meant first up was a trip to see an Ophthalmologist. We received good news on that visit and Zippy was scheduled to undergo double cataract surgery. With his vision fully restored, our next mission was to find him a new forever home and thankfully, it didn't take long for someone to come forward and offer Zippy the life we new he deserved. Yay for Zippy; he is now in his new home and living life to its fullest. We are proud to say we were here when Zippy needed us - we'll never forget you little one!
Gretchen was only here with us at GGOH for a short time but during that time, she won us over ~ she is such a love. We are so thrilled that this little beauty found herself a new, loving home (rumor has it that it was her sweet kisses that charmed her adopter). We truly could not be happier for her and what a blessing for all of us, Gretchen included, that she found her way into someone's heart just in time for the holidays. There is no better present than the gift of love! We wish you all the best, lovie!!
Denali ~ hooray for Denali! This sweet boy went to his furever home and we couldn't be happier. Be good, our little bundle of joy and energy, and enjoy your new family!!
Ralphie & Trixster were brothers that were brought to Gregory's at two different times in the summer of 2014.
Ralphie came in first and was a surrender by a private party that was "looking for a good home" for Ralphie and another
kitten. Trixster was brought in after being rescued by one of Gregory's volunteers (along with 7 other kittens and 4
adults) from deplorable living conditions - they had been abandoned and left to live in a flea infested garage with no
food and only rain water to drink that had gathered in a dirty oil pan. It wasn't known upon arrival that these two were
brothers, but after their nearly immediate bonding and a review of their cases, it was pretty clear that they were. The
boys were fortunate enough to be adopted together after a short stay with GGOH and are now living in harmony with
their new family. We are so thankful that their adoptive family saw how much love these two had to give and took them both in. Another successful rescue and adoption for GGOH!
January ~ we couldn't be more thrilled; January has left the building! This sweet girl waited far too long to find her furever home but from the looks of things, it was worth the wait. Updates from January's adoptive family tell us she's "living the life" and enjoying her new home. Nothing but good things to come for you, sweet girl!
Henley & Penny were brought to GGOH in early summer 2014 after a young boy brought the pair of kittens to the New Richmond Veterinary Clinic stating that the mother cat had been hit by a car and he didn't know what to do with them. These two sisters quickly won the praise of everyone here at Gregory's - they were such sweethearts! It wasn't too long after their picture was posted stating they were ready for adoption that a wonderful man came in asking about them. Henley and Penny each pushed their charm to the max hoping that this man would "pick me" - to their surprise, he did just that and they both were picked to bring happiness to this man's home. All of us here at GGOH are a little bit jealous as this man truly got a lot of love when he picked these two!
Odie ~ after better than two years with us at GGOH, Odie finally found his match and now has a home to call his own. We will miss him, but we couldn't be happier for this little guy. A great big shout out of THANKS to his adoptive family for seeing Odie's potential and giving him a home!
Midnight has made her way up north to her new furever home. It has been reported she has settled in in her new home and is doing just great. We will miss our big gal but are so delighted we were able to help Midnight through this transition from being left behind by her previous owner to finding a wonderful f0rever home where she will be loved. Only the best wishes for you Midnight; Happy Holidays to you and your new family!
Mickey, at the young age of 9 years old, has found his forever home and just in time for Christmas. Merry Christmas, Mickey!! We were honored to care for you our little friend, and feel truly blessed that you are now in the hands of your new owners. What a wonderful gift they have given you! We'll be keeping you in our thoughts, little guy!
We are happy to report that Sarge has found his forever home. This big boy is going to be showering his new owners with lots and lots of love! We're going to miss you, big fella, but we could not have asked for a better Christmas present for you and for us. Here's wishing you and your new family a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Tripod came to GGOH in early August, 2014. Tripod was rescued by one of Gregory's volunteers after he was seen
running through the neighborhood, dragging one of his front legs. Upon rescue, it was quickly determined that Tripod
needed immediate medical attention as he had a laceration to his leg that went 3/4 of the way around and was cut all
the way down to the bone; he was suffering from a massive infection as well. After several days of medical treatment,
his leg was not responding and unfortunately, Tripod lost that leg via amputation. GGOH successfully ran a t-shirt
fundraiser to help pay for the mound of medical bills for Tripod; we were amazed how many stepped up to give this guy
a chance at a happy and healthy life. After a few weeks of recuperation, Tripod was placed up for adoption and not
surprisingly, he was quickly snatched up and found his forever home. The above photo was taken when Tripod came
back to GGOH for a visit - as you can see, he grew into quite a handsome boy! Without Gregory's help, who knows
where Tripod would be today, but we can pretty much guess; he was one lucky kitty to be taken in by GGOH - his new
family agrees and couldn't be happier that we were there to save him.
After spending nearly a year with us here at Gregory's, Indy has found a new home. Indy has much to be thankful for as he was adopted by a wonderful family just in time for the long Thanksgiving holiday break (11/2014). There is no Black Friday event that will ever compare to the joy of bringing a new family member into your home! We are going to miss this little guy but we here at GGOH are also very thankful that Indy has found his forever family.
